TdF Stage 1: July 02, 2011

Remark: this stage does not take part in the game.

For a change, the 2011 Tour de France started with a regular stage rather than a prologue. Stage favorite Philippe Gilbert of Belgium won easily with Cadel Evans and Thor Hushovd finishing second and third respectively. Race favorite Alberto Contador lost one minute and 20 seconds because of a peloton crash 9 km before the line.
