TdF Stage 19: July 22, 2011Stage 19 was only 109 km but included climbing to the Galibier and the Alpe d'Huez. The race started with attacks of among others Alberto Contador and Andy Schleck but they were caught. Contador attacked again when climbing to the Alpe d'Huez. But France's Pierre Rolland passed him two km before the line and won the stage. Thomas Voeckler had to give the yellow leader's jersey to Andy Schleck of Luxemburg. The stage in the game was won by Wicher Otten from The Netherlands, his second stage victory this year. Fellow countryman Erik TKS was second and Rein Borggreve made it a Dutch 1-2-3. John Silverio remains on the top of the overal rankings with Nicolas Desgranges still on the second spot. Phil Hancox (UK) moves up to third.
