This is a list of the most popular Tour de France cyclists among the participants in the Internet Tour de France Game 2000. Every time that a cyclist appears at the first place of a team list he receives 15 points, for a second place 14 points and so on. All these points have been added together and the result is this list which represents the average choice of the participants in this game. For the third year in a row, Erik Zabel is the most popular cyclist. Just like last year, Tom Steels is second. Lance Armstrong takes over the third spot from Bobby Julich.
The top 15 of this list have been used to make the artificial competitor Jan Modaal (the Dutch version of John Doe).
This list contains the score of each cyclist together with his name and the number of participants that have chosen him in their teams (between brackets). The score has been computed by awarding 15 points for every first position in a team, fourteen for every second position and so on.
