Remark: this stage does not take part in the game.
If a Tour de France prologue is a good indication of the shape of the contenders for the yellow jersey, this race is going to be good. The complete 2000 top four of Paris, Lance Armstrong, Jan Ullrich, Joseba Beloki and Christophe Moreau finished in the top ten of this prologue, which also included Santiago Botero, last year's mountain king, Stuart O'Grady, a strong contender for the green jersey and, in his first Tour de France participation, young Florent Brard. Moreau was the fastest today, giving France a much appreciated stage victory and the first national yellow jersey in several years.
