The 203 km eighteenth stage has developed in the same way as yesterday's stage. After the first intermediate sprint a group of sixteen cyclists escaped from the peloton. They got a large advantage and four of them battled for the stage victory. Spain's Pablo Lastras crossed the line first. Lance Armstrong kept the yellow jersey.
Today the most popular rider in the top 10 was Fabrizio Guidi, who is a member of 17 participant teams. Even fewer people than yesterday managed to get points today: 67. The stage was won by Jon Paul Preston (USA). With Nardello as the only member of today's stage top 10, he managed to get 16 points. Guido Van Hal (Belgium) and Ivan Hall (UK) shared second place with 15 points. The top 3 of the overall rankings remains the same as the day before yesterday: Belinda Ward (USA) is first, Nagrom Skubidi (Norway) second and Lou Solko (USA) third.
Today Santiago Botero did not show up at the start due to illness. He was a member of 955 game participant teams.
