TdF Stage 13: July 15, 2006Stage 13 was the longest (231 km) and probably also the hottest (35C/95F) in this year's race. The peloton took it easy and the five who escaped early in the race collected a lead of over half an hour. Jens Voigt (Germany) won the stage. Spain's Oscar Pereiro was second and he takes over the yellow jersey from Floyd Landis. The stage in the game was won by former stage record score holder Dick Blom (The Netherlands). There were more participants with the sprinters McEwen, Boonen and Eisel in the top of their team but he was one of the few which also included Pereiro. Brent Swanick (Canada) was second while fellow countryman Glenn Eriksen shared third place with Matthieu Jouan of France. Bevo Gallagher (USA) regained the overall lead from Brigitte Touw of The Netherlands. Dimitri van Agterveld of The Netherlands remains third. No riders left the race today.
