Stage ten of 156 km was a tough mountain stage with two out-of-category climbs of which one, the Hautacam, was the finish. A large group of 24 cyclists escaped early in the race but at the top of the first high summit only one was left. At the climb to the finish there was one attack after another. Eventually two riders remained. Leonardo Piepoli of Italy won the stage. Juan Jose Cobo (Spain) was second. Cadel Evans of Australia collected the yellow jersey.
The stage in the game was won by Wicher Otten of The Netherlands. This is his sixth stage win in the history of the game. A.A. Fiona-Jaffa (UK/England) was second and Robert Hale (USA) took the third spot. In the overall rankings, Omar Almaini of the UK kept the top spot. However, Bryan Stout of New Zealand joins him there with exactly the same number of points. Bob Verweij (The Netherlands) remains third.
Tomorrow, Tuesday July 15, is a rest day in the Tour.
