History of the Internet TdF Game

Internet Tour de France Game 1996

The Internet Tour de France Game 1996 is a competition organised on Internet in which participants attempt to predict the results of the stages of the Tour de France 1996. Each participant selects a team of 15 cyclists and the team members will earn points when they finish in the top 10 of a stage. The participant with the team that has collected the largest number of points after the Tour de France will be the winner of this game. If you want an example of the competition, you can take a look at the issue of 1995. These pages include a guestbook with comments of the visitors. You can also enter something in the guestbook.

This year there will be no comparison between the best overall scores of the participants in the game and the best scores of the 10,000+ participants of Utrechts Nieuwsblad Tour Game because the latter organization has changed the scoring system of its game.

The Tour de France 1996 started on June 29 in s'Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands and finished at July 21 in Paris, France. It had one rest day: July 10.

General

In 1995 NOS Teletekst was the organization that provided the fastest results of the Tour de France stages. Their pages are in Dutch but still interesting even if you do not speak the language. Please note that due to the popularity of their Tour de France pages the NOS Teletekst web server might be difficult to access between 13:00 and 16:00 GMT (15:00 and 18:00 EMT summertime).
