TdF Stage 3: July 06, 1999

In this 194 km stage two cyclists escaped from the peloton. However, they were caught before the line and the third stage ended in s sprint finish. For the second time in a row Belgian Tom Steels was the strongest. Jan Kirsipuu of Estonia remains in the yellow jersey.

The stage in the game was won by Rene van Buitenen from The Netherlands with another excellent score (103 points). Fellow countrymen Henry van Asseldonk and Arno Brus took second and third place. After a third place yesterday, Dutchman Rien Post finished fourth today and this was enough to take over the first place in the overall rankings from Dick Blom.
