Stage 19 was an individual time trial over 57 km. Lance Armstrong (USA) showed once again that he is the strongest cyclist this year. He won the stage, nine seconds ahead of Switzerland's Alex Zulle. Armstrong retains the yellow jersey. Zulle has moved to second place now with Fernando Escartin at third spot.
This time trial has provided excellent results for the Swedish participants in the game: they obtained both first and second place. The stage winner today was Stefan Werner with Marie Holjer as runner-up. Karen Bayne (USA) and Michael Rickels (USA) shared third place. In the top of the overall rankings Michael Botzet of Germany extended his lead over Austria's Christian Hoffellner to ten points. Erik-Jan Meles (The Netherlands) moved to third spot, six points behind Hoffelner. It is still uncertain who will win the game. The results of the final stage which finishes in Paris will decide the winner.
