When Lucky Luke and Tom Taylor escort cows to Abilene, they travel through the city Tombstone. There they meet Morgan Earp, the aide of Wyatt Earp, who is running against long-time mayor Old Clanton for the position of mayor. Clanton's sons attempt to stop his campaign. Lucky Luke decides to stay in Tombstone and help dentist Doc Holliday and the three Earp brothers.
